HISTORY
Our
Story
Slap Showdown began with a simple observation: while games like Gang Beasts, Party Animals, Super Smash Bros., and Boomerang Fu helped define the modern party game genre, there were surprisingly few experiences built specifically for groups of 4 to 8 players sharing the same room. Recognizing this opportunity, the team drew inspiration from the iconic gentleman's glove slap challenge and the physical comedy of classic slapstick films to create something fresh.
That vision evolved into a physics-driven party brawler where a simple slap became the heart of every match. Early prototypes explored ragdoll physics, interactive arenas, and chain reactions, gradually shaping a unique early 20th-century gentleman-inspired world full of quirky characters, humor, and chaotic moments.
Following the completion of its Vertical Slice, Slap Showdown has entered the early stages of Pre-Alpha. Backed by a growing team of nine professionals, development is now focused on expanding content, refining core gameplay systems, and preparing the project for future milestones and public showcases.
